About Us

Stepping Stones Recovery exists so that women — especially mothers — never have to choose between seeking recovery and staying connected to their children.

Our Story

Built to close a real gap in recovery housing

Stepping Stones Recovery was created to address a serious gap in recovery housing. Women — particularly mothers — often encounter limited housing options, childcare barriers, financial instability, and the fear of being separated from their children.

We were founded on the belief that women need more than temporary shelter. They need a safe home, a structured plan, meaningful accountability, practical assistance, and a community that believes change is possible.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide women and mothers in recovery with safe housing, practical resources, compassionate support, and the structure needed to achieve long-term sobriety, strengthen their families, obtain meaningful employment, and transition into independent living.

Our Vision

A community where recovery is within reach

We envision a community where every woman seeking recovery has access to safe housing, meaningful support, and the opportunity to build a stable, healthy life for herself and her children.

Our Values

What guides us

Dignity

Every woman is treated with respect and worth, never defined by her past or her hardest moments.

Accountability

Clear, consistent expectations create a foundation of trust and steady progress.

Compassion

We meet women where they are, with patience and genuine care.

Family Stability

Keeping mothers connected to their children strengthens the whole family.

Personal Responsibility

Lasting change grows from goals a woman sets and owns for herself.

Community

Recovery is easier together — neighbors, mentors, and peers who believe in you.

Long-Term Recovery

We support sustainable habits and connections that last well beyond a stay.

Independence

The goal is a stable, self-directed life and a home of one’s own.
